The Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation takes a giant stride toward clinical transformation and better outcomes by successfully integrating the AI-powered CogPT platform developed by Academy Medtech Ventures within their physical therapy (PT) practice.
This clinic, led by Matt Mastenbrook, DPT, who wanted to differentiate with other clinics by utilizing innovative tools to solve some of the common physical therapy problems such as patient exercise boredom and non-adherence. The CogPT platform combined cognitive tasks with physical activity further enhanced engagement of the mind and body, ultimately improving functional outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Results: Integration of cognitive elements into standard physical therapy sessions increases patient participation, satisfaction and higher attendance rates. This approach has led to 12.3% improvement in patient reported outcomes, 26.8% reduction in patient attrition and 4.3% increase in gross revenue per visit.
Patient satisfaction scores and attendance rates have increased, along with soaring financial returns per visit by 3 to 5 per cent. The platform has been key to streamlining therapist workflows, helping them make better use of their time during sessions and increasing billing efficiency.
Mastenbrook encourages other clinicians to consider AI-driven instruments for both patient care and operational efficiency, recommending that we keep up with the evolving technology in healthcare.
